Summary: Miguel Santos, a.k.a Azucar, a Dominican pitcher from San Pedro de Macoris, struggles to make it to the big leagues and pull himself and his family out of poverty.
The movie had so many different layers. I really connected with all of the characters and so did Sugar. He goes through a full cycle of emotions, experiencing being comfortable, happy, elated, depressed and struggling, and then finally being happy.
The main point of the movie is that Sugar has a dream of being a major league baseball player but in the end that truly doesn't mean anything if you are not surrounded by friends that make you happy.
