Hangover

5 STARS!!!!

This movie is soo hilarious....everyone should see this in the theatre...everyone should own it. Just unbelievably funny. Zach Galifianakis (the fat one) did an awesome job. He was so gross and hilarious at the same time. The best jokes weren't even in the preview- which happens alot in comedies. Anyway- I don't really have alot more to say.

Drag me to Hell

4 stars.

Cheesy tagline: Christine Brown has a good job, a great boyfriend, and a bright future. But in three days, she's going to hell.

Ok so I'm not going to lie...this movie was scary as hell....no pun intended :) There was just the right amount of things popping out but maybe too much bodily liquids. I think the movie wouldn't be all that scary if you didn't see it in the theatre but it was still scary. And the old woman..she is really SCARY! And why is Justin Long in every single scary movie? Another thing I liked is that the music was not overwhelming...it was just the right amount of cheesyness

Sugar

Summary:
Miguel Santos, a.k.a Azucar, a Dominican pitcher from San Pedro de Macoris, struggles to make it to the big leagues and pull himself and his family out of poverty.

The movie had so many different layers. I really connected with all of the characters and so did Sugar. He goes through a full cycle of emotions, experiencing being comfortable, happy, elated, depressed and struggling, and then finally being happy.

The main point of the movie is that Sugar has a dream of being a major league baseball player but in the end that truly doesn't mean anything if you are not surrounded by friends that make you happy.

State of Play

5 stars

Russell Crowe- Cal McAffrey
Ben Affleck- Reo. Stephen Collins
Rachel McAdams- Della Frye

It was awesome. The first 20 minutes were kind of predictable but the rest of the movie was anything but predictable. Russell Crowe did an excellent job and Ben Affleck finally picked a good movie to be in. Rachel McAdams did a superb job too. Affleck made you feel sorry for him and also hate him. All around the movie was just awesome. Jason Bateman's character was soo crazy. But he definitely pulled it off.

Things I didn't like about the movie:
  • Look at Rachel McAdams dress thingy she is wearing in the picture above. It makes her boobies look soo weird. And it seemed like there were a dozen scenes where she was wearing it. Everytime I saw her I cringed a little bit.
  • Ben Affleck's hair always looked funny. Almost like it was a tupee. It was too perfect.
  • I am sick of car parking decks solely being used for when people are being attacked. I don't think I can remember a scene that it wasn't. Remember in Obsessed, you can say that Ali Larter "attacked" Idris Elba. :)
Trivia:
  • Brad Pitt and Edward Norton were originally cast.
  • Helen Mirren shot all her scenes in four days.

Overall I feel like this movie should have received more attention. it was so well done.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

2 Stars

Tagline: You can't always run from your past

Well I wish I could have run from this movie. It was just like every other romantic comedy. Usually I am a sucker for cheesy romantic comedies put I just wanted this one to end. You knew what was going to happen but the middle of the movie wasn't even funny. Matthew McConaughey is looking old...really really old. He was too tan. And what the hell was up with his gay pirate phase in the movie. It was stupid. If it wasn't for the receptionist, Noureen DeWulf, I don't think I would have enjoyed any of the movie.

Obsessed

3 stars.

The beginning was really slow but towards the end it did pick up. I think Ali Larter did an awesome job playing a crazy person...a really crazy person. I mean damn, if someone busts into my car in a parking garage and whips open a rain coat and has some crazy looking lingerie on I would be angry and scared at the same time.

The story was all around predictable but it was still exciting. I do not like Idris Elba with no facial hair though. Lets compare...

Ridiculous quotes:

Idris Elba: Breathe Bitch!

Beyonce- I'm-a wipe the floor wit yo skinny ass.

Beyonce- I'ma show you crazy!

When you go to the WH

1. Do not act so damn surprised that it costs so much.
2. Do not try and make small talk with the employees about how it costs so much. You are not funny.
3. Do not say phrases like, "7 dollarssss for a medium popcorn!" We do not care, we don't even make that much an hour.
4. Do no ask if we have seen the movie or like the movie. There is always one response, "i've seen parts of it, it looks pretty good"
5. Do not stand in line for 5 minutes and then get to the counter and not know what you want. Come on people!
6. Do not ask what the sizes are, they are right in front of you. Yes, the medium is in the middle. duh
7. Do not ask if the popcorn is fresh. Again, there is always on response, "Yes, I popped it 5 minutes ago"
8. Do not ask if there are previews, yes there are previews, when was the last time you went to the damn movies and there weren't any previews.
9. Do not look irritated when we have to ask you so many questions. We have to. You could be the checker dammit!
10. Do not try and say we did not ask you if you would like candy and demand a pass. We asked you, it is ingrained in our heads.
11. Do not ask if the butter is real, it isn't. Do you think the employees melt butter before each show just so we can put it on your popcorn that you paid $7 for.
12. Do not hover over us when we are putting hydrogenated soy bean oil on your popcorn, we know how to do it. Must of us have been working here for years.
13. Do not ask us to pop fresh popcorn. It takes about 4 and a half minutes and you are too impatient to wait that long and we don't care that your popcorn is a little stale.
14. If your tickets have already been torn do not ask if we need them. No, if we needed them we would take them from your greedy little hands.
15. Do not throw your money down on the counter, it is rude and no one deserves it.
16. Do not just hand me a coupon and not say anything. Again, it is rude and no one deserves it.
17. When you are buying tickets tell me which movie you want. I cannot read your mind.
18. Yes, the tickets are $9.
19. No, you are not a senior. you are younger then my parents. I just don't have the guts to ask you for your ID though. Robert will though. just to warn you.
20. Do not ask how old the building is and when the balcony was removed. We no not care and we do not know.
21. Do not ask what movies we are going to get. Again, we do not know, sometimes we care though...NO JUDI DENCH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!
22. Do not take a million napkins with you, you are just going to leave them on the floor and then we are going to have to sweep them up.
23. Do not look right at me while I am holding the broom and dust pan and not take your trash. One day i'm going to throw it at you.
24. Do not complain about the seats, I know, they're small, everyone knows, it's Westhampton.
25. Old people should be banned :)
